WT "Study" for 4th September 2016 - “Seek the Kingdom, Not Things”
by Nicholaus Kopernicus ini’m sitting there in the kingdom hall just thinking how rich it is of the gbojw to preach about materialism when they have recently been evidenced to be using bro’s & sis’ contributions to the world wide work to travel business class!
just that thought alone was leading me to read scripture while they were all engaged in the wt “study”.. however, then it came to paragraph 17 and i blurted / choked a little.
the paragraph said that “we should not imitate the people of ‘the nations,’ who have no real faith in a loving heavenly father who cares for those who put the interests of his kingdom first in their life.”.

The elders wouldn't let me fade, as soon as I got reinstated they hounded me and dug up all kinds of information from my past refusing to believe I was no longer doing those things so they could disfellowship me again. they are now getting wise to the "fade" tactic grrrrr >:-( xxx

Happiness and Freedom On A Paradise Earth?
by Disassociated Lady 2 inat a recent meeting there was a watchtower article about life in paradise.
they were saying that even when witnesses finally get there they will still be under the strict instructions from the elders and gb.
they may be given jobs that they will find unpleasant, also the preaching work will be ongoing because of all the resurrected people who need to learn about why they are given another chance.

JW hospitality
by Chook inabout 5 years ago when i was in, my son who at the time was 18 needed somewhere to sleep for a couple of nights due to work commitments ,in a city 2 hours from home.
my "best man" who is an elder that lives in this city , was asked could my son stay a couple of nights .
the response was he doesn't go to meetings anymore ,he can't stay here , i ask can he sleep on garage floor instead , still can't stay .

The elders had a problem with where I was living as I was left homeless after a divorce, I coudnt go to the JWs or family as I was shunned. A woman who is a retired wise women/witch was kind enough to let me stay with her. The elders told me I had to move out of her home which I cannot afford to do as I also have work in this area, but I would not be permitted to go anywhere near the area again or have anything to do with this so called EVIL woman!!! I have been offered no help from, them or my family so they are now disfellowhipping me because I cant afford to move out. x

Take it from someone who was reinstated last March and will be disfellowshipped again this week. The elders will really put you through it particularly if you are a woman, I have just had 14 months of hell. Elders now know that people are getting reinstated just to have contact with their families and after reinstatement they will hound you and check up on you to find reasons to kick you out again. Be prepared for an awful time. x -

Is this the last chance for inactive and df'd ones?
by innerpeace inhi all, just wondering if there's anything going around about the elders receiving instruction from the society to give inactive ones and disfellowshipped ones one last chance to come back?
i ask because i have a still in family member that i received a message from, and urging me to go back.
the elders are apparently saying there is no time left.

When I tried to get back in, they reinstated me as they couldn't fault what I was doing but once I was in they spied on me to find evidence not to keep me in. They did not like the fact I had been out 26 years, even though I heard that the elder dealing with me was out for 29 years after being raised as a JW andwas a drug dealer! They thought they had found some evidence of wrongdoing and will not believe they are wrong, so after 5 months I will be disfellowshipped again this week. A big mistake I made because of grieving for my Dad and not thinking it through. x

Convention Videos: Someone messed up royally
by ILoveTTATT2 in.
when i first saw the video, i was like, "wait... is that her... panties showing through the dress"?and it seems like it is so.turns out that if you look at the middle right of the video, there are some letters.
it reads, "footage provided by pond5".if someone wants to purchase that video to confirm, you can purchase it here:http://depositphotos.com/63621499/stock-video-violinist-girl-walking-through-a.htmli think that this was a royal mess up because i doubt they would put footage of a sister in a skimpy, revealing dress.doesn't the gb approve this?this will probably go down as another of the "subliminal images"...if there are thongs in paradise... might not be so bad after all!.

How can a world suddenly become a paradise earth, imagine how much clearing up there will be to do after Armageddon!! Also the resurrected people are not going to be immediately well behaved are they? Some may still not want to do things their way. It does not seem like a wonderful reward to me, just more dominance and hard work!

"You will never grow old in this present system of things" -- some campaign tools
by FatFreek 2005 ini am approaching 76 years old.
i can clearly recall that awake!
statement and similar during the pre-1975 hype -- "staying alive in '75", et al.

My mother was baptized in 1958 and was a very attractive woman. She too, believed that she would never grow old in this system. She is now 84 years old and even though she hangs onto their teachings because my Dad has recently died, she is a bitter negative woman. I know she thinks about it all deep down but would never admit it to us, but her daily aches and pains must remind her every day. So sad. x

The last video in the 2016 convention...
by problemaddict 2 in...is an epic triumph is emotional manipulation.
bringing together all of the stories they told thus far and placing them int he "new world" complete with the little boy who was killed in a car accident coming back from the dead.. i have a good friend who is stuck in with family and plays the role.
he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

You do have a point there, when I have watched the Time Machine I felt they were all like manipulated children who had no minds of their own and asked no questions. Very interesting x
